Hot & Cold Forging
Hot & Cold Forging
Stainless steel hot & cold forging is not our only specialty. Unique innovation and technologies are rooted in our processes, from concept to completion.
Advantages of Cold Forging
This process takes place without heating the metal beforehand, it is frequently applied in the automotive industry. Cold forging is usually more cost-effective than other methods, because:
- The final output doesn’t require substantial finishing or none at all.
- Very low material wastage.
- Dies used in cold forging last longer than in hot forging.
- The ductility of the metal decreases during cold forging, the metal has a significant increase in both yield and tensile strength.
Advantages of Hot Forging
The metal is ductile and comfortably molded. Complex designs can be formed with hot forging, unlike cold forging where this can be extremely challenging. To manufacture customized metal items, hot forging is the ideal option as it's malleable before hardening. This process is perfect for creating 3-D and intricate shapes.
